This person scammed me!

Wanted to purchase my item off of craigslist, then sending me a check in person saying a portion is yours but send the rest to a mover that will be picking up item. The check was held in my account so I gave money out of the pocket to send the movers because according to the buyer they were in a rush to move. I gave money out of my pocket around 900$ because I figured it would be returned from the check of $2645. I sent the money to a "Tammy Rought" in a different location expecting that to be the mover. As son as the money was sent I never got a reply through text or email and The check was a fake. Meaning it had no value and I had lost my money. Please help me get it back, i was going to use that to pay for my college! I need an education my family cannot afford to help!
