I'm a divorced single mom, who lost her job and spent all my savings trying to keep up with my mtge, and I needed to reduce my mtge payments so I could keep the home I've raised my daughter in since birth. Back in Oct I was contacted by James Houtman of SC law and he convinced me that they could help reduce my mortgage payments to 1/2- 3/4 of what I was paying. They also told me not to pay my mortgage until this process was complete because it would look better for my case - which I told him I did not want to do, as I've struggled to make sure my mtge was always paid every month, for the 20 years I've been in my home, but again, he convinced me this would be best if I didn't pay. But I did owe them a fee for their services - $3500.00, which was paid in full within two months. They were acting as if they were helping for the first 4-6 months, but when I started to ask why it was taking so long (a process they said would only take 3-4 months)- the contact started to dwindle. Then after working with them for 8 months, I found out my mtge was sold (from Citimtge to Penny Mac). Then they sent me another "Package", and basically told me that this process would have to start all over, so I hesitantly resubmitted all my info all over again on 6/26. Then ever since July & August I've been trying to call them, email them & fax them (all of which I have records) and no one will contact me back - Now I just received court papers from Penny Mac - suing me for FORECLOSURE on the the home I've been so desperately trying to keep. I have not yet told my daughter, as I don't know what to do. I'm just sick to my stomach. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you
