I too received a letter claiming I had won $125,000 in US dollars and a check in the amount of $3,875 from UnitedHealthcare carrying JPMorgan Chase in Syracuse, NY as the bank the check was drawn on. Red flags were up as my name was misspelled on both documents. Also the tax rate on prize monies is closer to 40% than the amount of the bogus check. The paper weight of the check was the same as the letter. And finally there was no return address on yhe envelope - only the words "Standard Life". However i believe unsuspecting recipients could mistake these items as the real McCoy at first glance but after a closer look the pieces don't fit together! I hope action will be taken against these predators.
