RE: Telephone scammers/identity thieves from phone number (786) 323-8978 in North Miami, FL

On 8/10 at 12:07 PM, I received a phone call in Spanish from an individual claiming to be from Florida Power and Light Collection and Disconnection Department, stating that my account was two months behind and that my power was going to be disconnected, if I didn’t make an immediate payment over the phone.

Since I knew my account was current, I realized this was an attempt to steal my identity and I refused to provide any information.

I am sure a lot of Spanish speaking and other people are falling for this scam. These people need to be stopped and put behind bars, where they belong.
