Miscellaneous

A young lady using the name Laura Martinez came by today saying she was in college at Penn State and she get points by selling magazines and if she reaches a certain amount of points she gets money to go towards her education. I am a huge supporter of higher education being a college grad myself. However the more she spoke things did not add up. I ask her which Penn State campus she attend and she must not have known they have more than one campus so she switch it to University of Penn saying she gets them mixed up (This was a red flag). She than made a huge story about she was from the Domincan Republic but later on in conversation she mention she was from New Jersey. I asked her about DR and she said her mother moved her here when she was young but it still did not add up. She tried to show me a picture of the website and a picture of her on the site that shows that it's for education however the picture was not her, the picture can pass for her but IT IS NOT HER. Lastly I asked for ID and she had nothing at all, nothing for school, nothing for the website, NOTHING. She almost had me go for it however when I looked at site and asked for ID I knew it was scam. She may have realized I was onto her because the more questions I asked I believe she started to get nervous. Ladies and Gents be careful this is all scam. Her sales pitch is very good. Hopefully she will use it and become a awesome saleswoman and make legit income. BTW the ph # that does not work is 856-768-1670 and the website was "TOPS ACHIEVEMENT PAGE", you must GOOGLE... Be careful!
