Royal Acres Chihuahuas
Took deposit of 500.00 US and never sent puppy or money back

I was recomended to buy a show quality chihuahua puppy from Joyce Flint Royal Acres. My husband and I took the 4 hour trip to pick out our puppy. We purchased a female tri colored LC female but had to wait several weeks to get her. Sh was only 3 weeks old at the time. I also took pictures of my friends puppy that originally refererd me to Joyce for she could not make the trip from Alberta. I sent Joyce a 500.00 US deposit on this female to find out weeks later that Joyce had a house full of sick puppies. She had Parvo. The puppy that my friend was getting was already a replacement, for her original puppy died several weeks prior to this.

Joyce said it was a reaction to a vaccine. I have my doubts. When my friends second puppy died Joyce emailed her pictures of a replacement puppy which did not look well. This puppy was the puppy that I had purchased! She tried to replace my puppy to her. I have since learned that this is not the first time Joyce has had Parvo. I emailed Joyce letting her know that I was not comfortable buying a puppy that was sick, and that she should just send my deposit back. I hadn't heard from her so I called her and she hung up on me. This was a month ago and I have not heard from her. I have noticed that she is advertizing Crested and chihuahuas in her local paper. She also told me she had several litters that were just born and was breeding her females. Can you imagin breeding these dogs when she was sricken with Parvo!!! She told my husband and I that she has 27 males alone and gave 20 to the chihuahua rescue because she couldn't afford to maintain them.

What kind of person does this and then continues to breed???

I will be filing a complaint to the humane society in her area and also I have reported her to the Attorny General in her area and they said they will investigate her. I also will be reporting her to AKC for trying to sell me a puppy that she was selling to my friend and also breeding while she had this Parvo outbreak. She promised my friend her 800.00 back by January 01/05 but now is avoiding her as well. I will be filing in washington small claims court and I will try and shut her down.

I can only imagin what her dogs live like. If anyone saw the effects of Parvo, they would never bring puppies into this mess. They die a very painful death. Parvo can live up to two years in this kind of enviorment.
Anyone that has had dealings with this breeder can also file a complaint to the washington state attorny and the kitsap animal society.
