Miscellaneous

I received a text from my bank, Cheviot Savings Bank in Cincinnati ohio, that there was a possible unauthorized transaction for $1. I called my bank about it and they told me it was from Help. Real.com. I think that name is probably spoofed though, Real.com is a legitimate company.

The lady at the bank asked me if I buy anything from Amazon.com. She didn't know or wouldn't tell me any more information, but based on that question, I'm wondering if Amazon got hacked and someone was able to steal credit card information.

I think it would help if people would post whether or not they shopped at any sites online recently, and where you're located, so we can try to tie all these incidents together.

It's hard for me to believe that we can't trach these people down somehow. I'm wondering how my bank knew it was unauthorized. I make many transactions that go through just fine, what was it about this $1 charge that shows suspicious? I wish the banks were more helpful because that would enable us to track them down.
