I called and spoke with Joseph to schedule an appointment that am to see about replacing my unit. I schedule for 4pm-7pm due to me working. I request as close to 5pm as possible. At 1:37pm I received a text from my son saying they were A/C guys at the house. 15 mins after receiving the text (I was not able to get ahold of my son), I spoke with my son and he able to put the AirCare tech on the phone. The tech stated "that he called my # but was unable to reach me, since he was in area he decided to dropped by" (unannounced). He proceeded to tell me that my unit was leaking freon from the shredder valve, and it will cost me $640.00 for 3 tons of Freon and my unit is perfectly fine (which I know it was not). I informed him that I scheduled my time specifically after my work schedule this way I can explain what the issue was & I was not going to pay $640.00 when I just had someone come out to service unit & it was not leaking after. He then proceeded to tell me that if I was not going to add freon then it was a $39.00 service fee. A fee I was never informed about when I schedule my appointment. Keep in mind I wanted to get an estimate on replacing my unit, not to fix since unit is very old & I was advised by several to replace. After speaking with my son once they left, he stated that the AirCare tech opened the unit, he opened the shredder valve and left it open until I spoke with him, releasing freon. The same freon he stated my unit was leaking and wanted to charge me $640.00 to replace. I called and spoke with the supervisor Jeanette who refused to do anything, but send someone else out to give me an estimate. When I got home I opened my unit & freon was all over the inside. Stay away!!!
