Miscellaneous

I Went to deliver a photo envelope with two photos and $20.00 to a trusted, good friend in Austin, TX. I put the $20.00 (one bill) while I was standing in the United Post Office at the above address since I had just bought the photo envelope there at the post office. I sealed it and paid for it to be delivered at the register where an elderly Asian lady was working at the register. There were two other people working at the front registers at the time. One was a white, loud talking, middle age lady (very unprofessional woman, always) and the other was a middle age white man. I'm not accusing anyone since too many people work there although it seems unusual to have had my mail opened and the money taken. I've been mailing cash for more than fifty years and nothing had ever happened before like this time. My friend informed me that the post office in Austin had made a note that the envelope had arrived there opened and had to be resealed. The photos did arrive at their destination although the money was gone. I realize and have always known to only mail money orders or checks although for small amounts I usually don't but I will from now, on.

My complaint is that someone opened my mail and I believe, that is a federal offense. Stealing money I realize is not a usual Post Office problem although I realize now, that it maybe. Too sad!
