Miscellaneous

I was selling a wedding dress on craigslist for $550 and was contacted by a buyer who wished to send me a check for the dress. When I received the check it was for $3,500 and when I texted the individual to ask why the check was made out in that amount and "she" told me that the rest was to be sent via money gram to a "private shipper" who was to pick up the dress. The check was a cashiers check so I felt it was safe, so I deposited the check on wednesday 6/12 and it cleared in the bank (Wells Fargo) the following morning. So Thursday afternoon I made a money gram transfer of $3,000 to a "Keshawnda Hardeman" in Atlanta, GA. The transfer went through, however I did not feel right about it as the buyer asked me for more money after I made the transfer so I called my bank and expressed my concerns so they held the funds, thus over drafting my account as the $3,000 transaction had already been made. My account is frozen until June 24th until the funds/check can be investigated and verified. When the buyer asked me for more money I informed them that i was not willing to make any other transfers, however, she sent me a second check for $2,960. I still have the check in a plastic bag, just in case fingerprints are able to be lifted. I have informed my lawyer of this and he advised me to make this official complaint and offer to cooperate in any way that I can.

The person's phone number that was used to contact me was (813)-358-6797 and their email address was suzankelly01@gmail.com. I am happy to cooperate in any way that I can, as I would like to have this issue resolved and my money returned to me.
