I used a pay phone on Main Street in Picton, Ontario to make a local (the person was was literally a block away from me). The call lasted a few seconds. The screen showed a charge of I believe $5.99 which at the time I thought was extremely high but as I didn't have my cell phone with me and had to make the call I accepted the charges.

Now I notice that on my credit card bill there's a charge of $11.49. This is outrageous. To add insult to injury the phone was filthy. I actually tried to report it but got put on hold (611 service number) and was in a hurry so hung up.

I would have to be in a most extreme situation to ever use a Bell pay phone again and will advise everyone I know of these usury fees.
