Larson Storm Doors

Miscellaneous

I purchased 3 Larson Storm Doors a few years ago, see model info below.
All three have absorbed rain water and ended up swelling the bottom half of the door making them unusable.

Larson sent replacement cores for the first 2 doors as they were still under warranty at the time, then the replacements failed as well, same symptom, swelling core, they agreed to send replacements for the replacements but I was obligated to cover the shipping fees. Now door #3 is swelling so much that it will no longer latch closed. Door #3 lasted longer than 1 & 2 as it is protected by an upper deck which eliminated most of the moisture over the years therefore it is now far out of warranty.

Question... Has anyone else had experience with this same problem?

Why do they continue to use wood cores and not PVC?

I am mystified as to how a company can produce such low quality product and still survive in this industry?

Does anyone have any advice on what recourse I have with this issue?

I have tried calling their Customer Service phone number but it's always the same message that "we are too busy to take you call at this time, please try again later". I have also sent them an email regarding this issue but I do not expect an answer.

Next up the CEO?
