I put an ad on Roommsters.com looking for a roommate. This woman from "France" named "Lisa Richardson" messaged me inquiring about my room. She said she was from France but was doing a research job in Guam and was about to move to where I am located. She said that she had difficulty getting to a phone because she was in a "remote" area. I would reply letting her know that I have friends in Guam and they would be willing to meet her for me to get to know her since my friends know me very well. When she replied, she completly ignored that and urged me to send her my info so that her father could send me a check to hold the place for her arrival. She also asked for my number so that she can call me or have her father call me to start the moving in process; thinking it was harmelss I did give her my number and like an idiot that I am, I sent her my address as well, should have sent her a PO Box number, and I got a check in the mail the next day. It was a payroll looking green check! I had asked her many questions about when will she be arriving and all this stuff and she did not reply. She started talking to me about her car that she is getting shipped here and wanted me to sign for it, since it would arrive before her and then she wanted me to pay the delivery man for her as well. The check that she sent out to me was $2,520.50, the rent I was asking for was $725.00. I have not cashed the check. After reading the reports that I have, I am not even going to cash it, I am however going to give it to the authorities and see about tracking the corperates down. I sent her an e-mail asking her to explain everything but she has not answered. We will see if she replys agains. Beware everyone! Beware!
