Told "you didn't buy this at this store" in exchange attempt today

In other words, 'you are a liar and thief who is trying to rip us off."

I bought a small battery for a watch which went bad in two weeks, and as soon as the sales clerk opened the watch and took out the battery the above was his words.

I had the credit card handy and checking it out it turned out I had purchased the battery about two weeks earlier from the very store.

He proceeded on with the exchange but never apologized. I am a 75 year old senior and while a kid like him just might try what he accused me of, it is unthinkable for my generation to try to steal a $6 battery!
