In May, I paid Service America for a one-year appliance service contract, #5136060-005, in the amount of $366.96, check #129, clearing my bank on 5/16. The address of the appliances insured was 8077 N.W. 127 Lane, Apt. 2B, Parkland, FL 33076-4914.

Shortly after sending the check to Service America, an investor from Canada purchased my condo; an attorney represented me at the real estate closing as I had already moved to CT. The buyer was NOT interested in transferring the appliance contract to himself, so I phoned Service America personally to cancel the appliance contract effective the day of the closing, which turned out to be 6/25. Therefore, as well as making arrangements for all utilities and appliance contracts to terminate once the closing occurred, I also notified the 2 separate companies, to whom I paid separate quarterly maintenance fees (my local condo-Cypress Pointe and Heron Bay Master Assn), packed up and returned Comcast equipment and terminated service with them as well).

Service America refuses to refund the $366.96 because THEY have no record of my phonecall June, advising them about the cancellation effective on 6/25/12; in the confusion, chaos, stress and of an elderly client making a long distance move realized, I never realize I had not rec'd. The cancellation reimbursement, and that I don't remember the name of the person I spoke with June. They admit my last service call occurred MID- MAY (possibly, May 19.) Bottom line is that almost a year ago to the day, they billed me $366.96 for a contract almost immediately prior to me actually transferring title of the property to a new to a buyer in Canada. So I paid in full because that's what I always did. Why, you ask NOW, am I suddenly remembering I had never been reimbursed the year's for May, to nearly May.
SIMPLE. Service America sent a bill to my former FL address and the post office sent it along to CT. Impossible, they tell me, that one of their employees could have erred in entering the termination instructions; they are able to check EVERY incoming call and just KNOW none of their employees can find a call from my former FL landline — that story has alternated, depending on which SUPERVISOR a customer is fotunate enough to be able to tell the client that he or she has listened to all the recorded calls, but they can't find mine.

I would truly appreciate your assistance... Lucky I moved because the premium for this next year I don't own the property the fee is $380.45!! I'm actually fully paid up through 6/1/13!!!

Seriously, I'm planning to return to SoFL in October (guess I knew who NOT to hire to maintain the appliances, but my CT phone number is 860-949-8811 should you need to speak with me.
