Avoid CONNECT AMERICA like the plague!

ANYONE considering a medical alarm should avoid Connect America like the plague! Their customer service stinks, their employees are extremely rude and there are so many other competitors you should consider. After signing a one year contract for I began trying to contact them near the end of December to cancel the service. They always claim a high call volume and you never get to speak to anyone just leave a message which is never returned. I took an end-around and contacted their monitoring branch and explained my situation and they directly with a push of a button got hold of sales. Funny how that worked??? It is now January 13th and this morning found out that they deducted over $300 for another year's service for 2013 without my permission. No phone call, no email, no nothing. Just took the money and ran. So. O. O after today's phone call they claim the credit card account will be reimbursed once the equipment is returned to their home office. I will make sure I get a a receipt of notice when it arrives there. Then they claim the credit card account will be adjusted. After reading other reviews I have a notion I may run into the same complications as others in mot receiving this so in the meantime I have our state attorney general investigating my claims and I suggest others do the same. Connect America is certainly not on the up and up and my next review will be with the BBB. I hope others follow my lead so we as consumer are being treated fairly and professionally.
