My husband was a victim of this scam. I cancelled his card - But I research businesses for a LIVING, so here is my advice to all of you, based on what I did. I cancelled the card IMMEDIATELY and filed a dispute with my bank, and ONLINE I contacted and filed complaints with all three agencies. The Better Business Bureau, the Ohio Attorney General, and the FTC. Gov. Then Central Periodicals, when they realized our card was cancelled, they sent us a letter telling us to pay $1,440.00 for the entire subscription. I was furious. Thats when I wrote them a CEASE AND DESIST LETTER, via email at info@centralperiodicals.com, telling them to STOP CONTACTING ME and informing them I contacted the three agencies above. I also sent them a copy of the email replies sent to me from the Ohio Attorney general, BBB and FTC all telling me in the letter that they were going to investigate Central Periodical. Three days later we got a letter from Central Periodical telling us "pursuant to your request, we cancelled your subscription and your balance is $0". So I suggest to ALL OF YOU, contact your state's Attorney General. Go to the bbb.org, (better business bureau) and also contact the ftc. Gov and inform them of this SCAM! Also send the company at info@centralperiodicals.com a copy of your complaints filed. They will leave you alone after that! I promise!
