Two months ago our building was sold to an investor. They began to do an entire remodel of the center unit, including all new walls, flooring, bathroom and kitchen. They gave no warning to the 5 units of tenants, They would be turning off our water for periods of time to redo the plumbing under the units to the street, and knowing the entire time we have had plumbing issues in our bath an kitchen but have never sent anyone to look at or repair In our unit, since they took over. I have requested repair, several times, to the bathtub water leak which has become a running hot water feature in our bathtub. They removed our washer and dryer while I still had clothes in the dryer which they removed, still half wet and put they in my basket. No notification of this action either. When I asked about the washer and dryer replacement I was told to go down the street and use the laundromat. After a bit of discussion on this inconvenience I was referred to as "just a renter" anyway so what are you gonna do about it? I could not believe he said this to my face with no regard to my working at home and having a back disability. Loading up the car and going to pack in and out all that heavy lifting is hard on my back. They did not replace the washer and dryer for three weeks. We have been given notice to move due to the fact they want to begin to remodel our unit and gave us 60 days to vacate. They did not offer the finished unit as a place to go. I just cannot believe a (so called) professional business would treat renters with such disregard. We are paying their salary and the right thing to do would have been to offer us the option to move into the finished unit. After three years of paying rent on time and maintain the property as if it were my own, I feel this company is just in it for the money and screw the tenants. None of the work done has permits. The hired help do not have contractors licensees. I would not recommend renting with this business.
