Stopped by Loss Prevention Over Wrench Set Near Automotive Section

Went into sears today because of a sale they where having on a wrench set and to buy a truck tool box, was not familiar with this sears, located the wrench set asked a sales associate in tools were the automotive section was and proceeded to automotive was stopped by lost prevention arrested and now have a court date set for the 3rd of june, now i feel the sales associate should have informed me that i could not pay for the wrench set at the automotive section of the store were as i was holding it in plain site with no signs telling me other wise lost prevention even confirmed me asking the sales associate of how to get to automotive and that i was looking for truck tool boxes, i had no criminal record now this will affect my being able to get jobs for people that do back ground checks, not sure where to go from here.
