I called a home retention company, LCNPC, to help modify my mortgage. They screened me and said I definitely qualified. They told me I would pay $995 per month for 3 months. Then I would go into a grace period. The fourth month, my mortgage company will start billing me. The last contact I had with NLA was February 7, when I kept asking if I needed to send anything else, no response. I kept calling the LCNPC, and my first contact, Grant, no longer worked there, but Nick was his replacement. He kept telling me the underwriter will call me right back. Never did. When Nick stopped answering my calls, I called from my work phone and he answered then. He put me with the 'quality control' associate, Bianca Caballero. She then tells me that NLA was no longer in business, and they were working on returning my money, and they would like me to go with another law firm, Brian P. Butler, P.C., and I would have to pay a one time fee of $835, Long story short, I decided to call my mortgage company and found out nothing had been done with my account. The only thing done was NLA put a cease and desist on them so that they don't contact me. I am now working with Wells Fargo on another modification.
