Merry maids sucks for a reason. Their service is so bad, because they treat the maids like slaves! Say you pay Merry Maids 140.00 to come and clean... The maid will only end up seeing 20-40.00. Depending on the area of course. They pay their maids in Memphis like this; say u pay 100.00 the maid automatically gets 30% taken out for supplies off the top. That leaves the payroll price of 70.00, The employee then only makes 35% of that 70. Which leaves them. That gives them a whole $24.50 to spend 3 hours cleaning your house. How good og a job would you do at 8 dollars an hour? If they prefer to work in teams they only end up making 17.5 of that 30% So unless they pretty much walk in and out of your house, they wont even make enough to live off of. To get a good housekeeper threw them, you have to get different maids or teams and find one you like. Some of them are great cleaners if it is worth it for them. Tip your maid 20.00 and you'll see the difference. Like I said once you find one your happy with. Then request that same one and always leave that 20 and maybe a note. I worked for them for a short amount of time so I know exactly how it works. It was overworked and underpaid almost to a offensive level. I ended up quiting and starting my own business after they put me in a house that had been vacant for 2 yrs with no utilities all year round. It was full of black mold and had cockroaches everywhere! It took me and my partner 8 hours! We made about 50 dollars each. I even contacted my boss and told her so she sent the quality management out and all he did was helped dust a fireplace and left. I threatened her with calling Osha and she said "We don't report to Osha" and blamed the Quality Mgr for not pulling us from that house once I showed her pictures and was IRATE in her office. He didn't even know it was an option to do so. Just remember it's not all the maids. My partner and I requested the unhappy customers. We made everyone we went to satisfied and we kept them from a lot of contacts being cancelled. Only to end up working twice the hours then everyone else and getting paid 100.00 a week. There were only 2 options... Do a crappy job and make great money, or do an amazing job and have management up your ass for your times. WORST JOB I EVER HAD! I care about my customers and care that they are happy with all the money they are spending to have this service. I opened my own cleaning service 2 months later:)
