I called Century Link to have telephone and internet service installed in my new home. At the end of the service call, Century Link agent told me that I should get my tech help to get assistance on setting up my internet equipment and ensuring that our computers would work correctly with the new service. They strongly suggested I do this as they do not have tech assistance. It would cost $9.99 per month and I could cancel at any time once the equipment was set up.
I called for assistance and they pressured me into purchasing some software that would clean up all the computers in my house. They said it would cost $59.99 for this software and that it was basically free because a check would come in the mail to reimburse me for the expense. Her said my computers needed to be cleaned up. I agreed. The software did nothing more than my free CCleaner software which is free online. I was disappointed.
When I received my credit card bill, I had been charged twice for the $59.99 and when I called, I was informed that I was being charged for two seperate programs. Once was for virus removal and the other for registry error clean up. What??? I was not informed of this over the phone when I agreed? Where is my rebate check. That only comes when you have been on our plan for at least 3 months! What??? I was not informed of that either!

Those, strong accented, customer service reps are liars and pressure sales folks. Stay away from my tech help! File a complaint with bbb right away! Scammers!!! Beware!!!
