Contractor rip-off NOT Lisenced never shows up never returns calls

Please don't use Level 1 Construction! The owner is a flat out liar and cheat! He had been contracted to remodel my home/kitchen and he shows up without the proper tools which they con you into buying for them or of course it will cost more to rent the equiptment or sub-out the work required that was stated in the contract to begin with! All materials were to be included in the bid price which was completely not true. We ended up paying for almost all the materials and have yet to recieve a single recipt from them for the suposed materials that he bought.

Claims to know how to do certain jobs such as tile
flooring and cutting and bullnosing of granite countertops which he had none of the equiptment for and luckily was fired from us before we let him cut the granite. Numerous times will show up for 1/2 day and leave for "Lunch", then never returns or never returns a phone call. More times than not, he hasn't showed up to the job at all and has promised to be there, and will never return a phone call. He sends over his "Helpers" who have no clue what they are doing and only one of them speaks english which makes communication difficult.

Numerous times my husband and I have sat down with him to discuss our concerns and he passifys us with promises yet to be kept. We are planning to take him to small claims court in California to try and recoup some of the monies that have been lost to his company.
