Miscellaneous

I found this job on Craigslist. I immediately replied because it was in my area so commuting wouldnt be an issue. I was interviewed and hired on the spot. I was employed for 2 weeks. Recieved my first check of $96.00 on Friday, February 15th.
Before I left to go home I was told by my boss Yaniv "John" Hanimov to call him on Sunday, February 17th to see if I would be needed to work that week. I cashed my check at a local Pay-O-Matic that same day. I forgot to call him that Sunday so I called him Monday morning. I was then told that my services were no longer needed. On Wednesday, February 27th, I recieved a call from that Pay-O-Matic stating that I had to pay back a total of $126.00 because the checked that I cashed had a stopped payment on it. The reperesentative that I spoke to told me that they contacted "John" and he told them that he told me NOT to cash the check because he stopped the payment. I was asked if I could pay the amount back that same day but I couldnt because I am currently unemployed. I immediately called my mom and told her the situation. She told me to take it to small claims court. As of right now I am in the process of doing that.
