I received a call today from a Jason from the Department of Legal Affairs and Investigations. He stated that I had taken out a pay day advance from Cash Advance USA and was in default from the advance. When I asked him about it, he stated that there was a warrant out for my arrest and I would be arrested by 4:00 pm today at work. I told him I did not know what he was talking about. He was rude and had a heavy accent. I could barely understand him. He kept asking for my attorney of record. When I gave it to him he said nothing. He told me that I owed the $845 and would need to make arrangements to pay it. If we went to court it would cost me an additional $4,000. I called my attorney and she said this is a scam. I refused to pay and told them I would be contacting my attorney.
