New Coby TV did not work out of the box - now cost me - Example: Th 32" Coby TFDVD 3299 e product name of washing machine

We purchased your 32" Coby TFDVD 3299 for my 86 year old mother for Christmas in November Straight out of the box it did not work.
Most TV's you take out of the box and hook them up and scan in the channels and they are ready to go.
Not so with this one.
We hooked it up to our cable line and finally after much reading of the instruction manual and trying to scan channels in - we got a picture. The problem is the sound automatically on it's own goes all the way to max. We then tried to go to settings - the settings on their own fastley on their own jump from I think it is picture, audio, and 2 others. We as it rapidly jumps from one to the other tried to get it to stop on audio to see if we could get the volume of max and to get it off whatever is causing it to automatically go to max volume.

We have been unable to stop the volume from going to max whenever the TV is on.
The TV was sent in to COBY on January 2 and today is Feb. 26 and still no TV. No contact, and had to send in over $30 to get Coby to fix their new TV that never worked.
I find out today that the TV was not logged into Coby until Jan 24th, and their policy is 6 to 8 weeks for us to expect anything.
I would never buy another Coby product.
