Miscellaneous

I received my January phone bill today. I had received collect calls from a payphone on the 13th of January from a Bell payphone in a city less than 30km from my house. I accepted phone calls that were billed at approximately $5.75 per min. At no time was there a statement made regarding the atrocious fee's, or was I advised that these rates would be charged, otherwise I would NOT have accepted the calls! Is this not illegal? Charging these rates without notifying the end consumer seems to be a less than legal business practice. Winmac Tel's website also states that there fees are not listed due to the fact that there are so many rates??? Why is Bell Canada and Winmac not being held liable for misrepresentation of fees, when there is non disclosure of the rate charged to the end consumer?
