Reworx and RegCure
Consumer Report

Miscellaneous

A pop-up first appeared overlaying my screen advising me that I had 884 errors on my computer and offering to fix my problems for $29.95.
When I rejected the offer and closed the window a second overlay advised me that I in fact had 1226 problems including registry errors and offering to fix them for $33.95.
Somehow my e-mail was disabled. I called my service provider because My service on-line indicated inactive. I run Google Chrome and McAfee and neither one of them had flagged a problem.
My service provider advised me that my account was active and to delete all my cookies and then examine my program list and delete programs that related to these programs.
I did all that. Now I have to find all my old log-ins and re-enter passwords into all the programs that I use. Most of everything is back to normal but my Chrome has trouble telling the difference between my two e-mail accounts.
These companies seem to get ugly if you don't give them your money for their dubious services.
I have wasted at least 4 hours repairing these problems.
Have you had any other reports of malicious rejection?
