I called an ACER support help line to register a new smartphone I bought on on Feb. 16 and to seek help in resolving some issues. I was directed to mytech customer service. I was informed by the representative, Alicia that my smrtphone 's warranty has/expired and that I should subscribe to their service for 3 months at a price of $99.99. No explanations were provided to me with regards to cancellation. After contacting the tec: hnical support rep, Christopher, he told me that the registry of my desktop computer has to be cleaned at a price before he could help me of problem. I declined the offer and requested that my subscription be cancelled effective immediately.
On Monday Feb 18, I called the Billing Dept and spoke to Laura who said my subscription of $99.99 was non refundable, although I had returned the phone to the merchant who sold it to me. After expressing my disgust and dissatisfaction with their behaviour for non performance, Laura later suggested a discount of $49.99 to me.

This is tantamount to corporate extortion and robbery. I demand full refund of my subscription at least.
