My brother got a letter and a check for 1472.00 written on Finance Center Federal Credit Union. He called the number on the letter to find out if it was legit and they said yes. I also received the letter and check but, I tore it up. My brother was arrested at the bank and is charged with fraud and burglary for trying to cash the check. I also called the number after this incident and was told to call today when the bank was open so that they could activate the check. I was given the name and extension to whom to talk to. The cops would not even look at the leter. I ended up retrieving the letter and the check for legal purposes in case I need to show that I was also sent these items. I need something done about this so no one else has to deal with this. Your help would be gravely appreciated.
