For most of 2012 I have been in the CTCA hospital with bone cancer. I finally got to come home and upon coming back on 12/30 I missed 4 tollways and returning home from CTCA I missed the same four tolls. The total unpaid tolls were $13.70. Being from Ohio I received today a letter where I owed a fine of $160.00 plus $13.70 for the unpaid tolls. I feel that the state of Illinois is taking advantage of people traveling through your state. Many are sick with cancer on a fixed incomes and are unaware of what a I Pass even means. Then after 2 months I receive a letter like this. Even tollway officals think this is taken advantage of out of state people let alone people coming back and forth to Zion Il. For cancer treatment. The fine I had to pay would have paid for my hotel stay for my visit. I would like to be reimbursed for the $160.00 fine that I feel is unjust in the manor of the way this was conducted. If not I will notify the AAA of this matter and the news media of this continuing way of Il. Collecting out of state money.
