Maytag bravo Xl washer machine FAILURE

After buying what we thought was a reputable machine it breaks and becomes useless after 10 months. Luckily there are a few weeks left on the warranty. After repair man comes today he tells me it will be a few more days to get the (drain pump) in. This is a major part or this washer machine and should not fail after 10 months. After complaining I am told that for my inconvenience they will extend the warranty for 6 months. That's about $30.00. Or I can purchase a longer period warranty?

I am no longer comfortable with this product or the company who makes it. I would expect that they EXTEND the warranty at least a few more years. This would demonstrate that this was in fact a freak breakdown and loyalty to there product.
