After hurrican Sandy I lost my Volkswagen 2011 Jetta. I called up the dealership where I had gotten the initial lease from to see if there was something we could work out since I had recently went through the whole process of putting down money and paying tax, title and fee's up front for the car I lost. The manager of the dealership told me to come in and he would give me a great deal where they would pay my $1000 deductible and get me into the same car (VW Jetta) for the same monthly payment.
The first thing was this car did'nt have a sunroof but considering he was helping me out I did'nt say anything. Then I had to put down $1000 for tax and title and bank fee which I was told was standard. Now its a few months later and my deductible still has'nt been paid by them and the bank is coming after me for the $1000 deductible. I called several times regarding this matter and was told "I'll look into it" without a phone call back.
Finally today he tells me that I misunderstood and that $1000 was used as part of the downpayment for the vehicle so yes I need to then go and pay the deductible myself.
That is totally absurd because the 2011 Jetta I had with a sunroof did not require over $2000 down for the same monthly payment. He tells me he's helping me and VW is helping hurricane victims and all he did was lie and mislead me to make the sale. Typical car salesman!!! Do not trust koeppel volkswagen in woodside they lie lie lie!!!
