I paid $599 from a credit card for supposedly services to get me registered with the Federal government for contract work. There was a worksheet to fill out which included my bank account information, tax id number and other confidential information. The fax I was to send it to did not work, the "case manager" I am supposed to have does not answer the telephone or return emails. Basically I have compromised all of my personal information and paid $599 for it!
