Well, I love Popeyes. I worked in LA for 7 years at 4 different Popeyes, as a cook. I went to the Popeyes on Airport Blvd. The first time I went, I was excited. I ordered 2 piece white extra breast meals, spicy. I sat down to eat and it was original. I went up and said this is original, not spicy. She said yes it is, they must not have mixed it right, but the spicy was still cooking, so they gave me original thinking I was leaving. She said, "Well, you'll have to wait 12 min, it's cooking." I said OK, I'll just throw this away. She came running, saying, "No, don't throw that away, I need to count that in my waste." She took it behind the counter. I think that would be against board of health rules. As all my other food got cold, I did not complain. She even threw my biscuit away.
After I ate almost to the end, my son said, "Mom, look." I said, "What, son?" He said there was a black curly hair in my food. Both of us have long straight brown hair. I just had to go back up. They treated me like, "Ma'am, we don't need your problems." I took the box up there and said to the manager, "Ma'am, look in the box and tell me what you see." She said, "Nothing." I said, "Look again, it's a hair." She said, "It's your hair, ma'am." I said, "How's that? I don't have black curly hair. I'm not here asking for free food, ma'am. I'm here to show you what happened, to get an apology, and for you to fix the problem." She said, "OK, ma'am, have a nice day," and walked away. I was very disappointed. Not only did I get the wrong food order, I got the original instead of the spicy, and the rest of my food was cold. Then I wanted to complain and they tried to avoid me and blamed me for their mistake. This was about 2 weeks ago.
I said maybe it was just a mistake. I said, "Let's go to Popeyes tonight," and my son said, "No, Mom, they are nasty." I said, "Let's just go try again." So I ordered a bucket. The first piece I ate looked pink and a little bloody. I don't know how I got 3 raw pieces. I was so hungry that I ate the raw, semi-cooked chicken breast. I did not want to complain because I felt embarrassed. I tried the chicken wing. It was not spicy, but it tasted old and nasty, like 2 to 4 hours old. It was the only piece in my 10 piece like that. I just couldn't hold back any longer, so I went up there nicely. She told me, "You should have brought it back before you ate off it." I said, "Ma'am, there's only a thigh and breast gone, which are raw like the rest of these couple of pieces." She said, "You always got a complaint."
I have eaten at a lot of Popeyes and I assure you none were like this, and I have been here only two times. There was no apology and no "let me make it up to you." I was not there for free food, as you recall. I had a 10 piece, and that is a lot of money that I work hard for, down the drain. They were like, "Don't come here if you're going to complain. Take your food and leave." They did not literally say those words, but they just walked away from me and left me feeling that way. I have never seen a business that does not care about its customers. This really sucks, and my fries were cold. It is sad that they run their customers off. Sorry about the complaining, but I feel cheated. The worst part is that the chicken was raw and pink and she told me it was cooked. I thought chicken was white when done, not pink and raw looking with blood spots. I will have to recook it in the oven.
