GE Capital Retail Bank
Ebay mastercard stealing money promising rewards selling your personal information to third parties

Miscellaneous

I opened an EBay MasterCard through GE Capital Retail Bank who promised points that would be good for EBay Merchandise if I used the card. After two months of using the Csrd I received NO POINTS so I contacted them and was told I would have to continue using the card in order to get the promised points... Please note this is nowhere established in their literature. I then decided that having the card is worthless without reward so I cancelled the card. I paid the first months charges using Paypal about $260 I received a bill after closing the account for $806 which I paid. After researching the charges I made on Paypal I found that there was a discrepancy of 149.06 in other words I paid GE Capital Retail Bank more than the amount charged. I repeatedly asked for an accounting as the only one I had was by checking all my Paypal purchases against the card billing. Well GE Capital Retail Bank agreed that they owed me 149.06 and that the bill they sent was in error as they forgot to deduct part of the original Paypal payment for an item that was returned and refunded. I was told I would receive a check within 5-7 business days. 30 days later I received nothing. I contacted Paypal who sent me to EBay who advised me that GE Capital Retail Bank had the money and that they were responsible to return it as well as provide the promised points (rewards). I contacted GE Capital Retail Bank again and received the same story they would send me a check within 5-7 days and as they are unable to issue me the promised reward points they would place a courtesy $20 into my account which if I called them I could also have another check sent to me but I must wait 48 hours.

So far no check and no $20 but I did get something else from GE CAPITAL RETAIL BANK they sold my e-mail address to several marketing Companies and now I receive 100 junk e-mails a day as well as a ton of unwanted mail. I tracked down one of the spammers who said they purchased my address from GE CAPITAL RETAIL BANK

At this juncture I want to warn all of you DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK they will hold your money provide false Statements for more than actual purchases and then keep the overage as well as selling any information you give them to marketers. I did have a chance to read their privacy agreement (not included in the papers they sent me when opening the account) and they do mention that you have a choice to opt out of them selling your information.in order to find this out you must go to their site and read the terms they have with EBay. It's hidden otherwise.

So what we have isa nice dishonest scamming bank that will sell you out. Avoid them at all costs cancel your cards and call the contact number and force them to opt you out of allowing them to sell your information. Watch your account carefully they will steal from you if you allow them. I plan to take them to small claims if they do not refund me very soon. Maybe by writing here they will take this low life approach to doing business more seriously.
