I was having problems with microsoft word and thought I had called microsoft technical support. This 'tech', who spoke with an Indian accent immediately took over my computer through logmein.com and told me that foreign hackers were systematically destroying my computer and that it would cost me over $300 to fix it. He told me if I didn't my computer would ultimately crash. He didn't have the usual manner of a tech but was aggressive, more like a used car salesman who just keeps talking and talking, pressing me to agree. I told him I didn't trust what he was telling me, and he then brought up information about his company with pictures of 'customer' and their testimonials. These ads didn't look legitimate to me. The pictures were old with out of date hair styles. I tried to go on line to read about the company myself, but he kept blocking my access. Finally, I went to another computer and looked up Vtech Squad. There I began to read about all the scams and demanded that he get out of my computer immediately, which he did. I called Microsoft to report the incident and a tech solved my problem which was minor. She assured me that computer was not dying. I am outraged that this 'company' is preying on trusting, unsavvy computer users. I felt violated by this low life. I hope that someone will figure out how to shut this company down. Meantime, computer users, beware!
