Edwin Sandford
Updated Information on Undisclosed Well. Rip-off!

Miscellaneous

The name of the company that employees Mr. Sandford is the Richard Weidel Corporation. They have told me Mr. Sandford had no knowledge of the real water source for the home and bnve denied my request for connecting the home to City water. It is illegal in New Jersey to sell a home with no legal water source.

Evidently this appears to mean to the Richard Weidel people that had their agent assess the home, list the home and provided information to my sales agent and home inspector and to me, that the home has a well 200 feet deep, sealed and put in about the time the kitchen was added, located under a well stone next to the kitchen, has no responsibility to verify the location of the well or verify the information about the condition of the well before providing it to customers.

In new Jersey the real estate agent does have a duty to verify, if possible the information about a well and if the real estate agent makes statements to influence a potential buyer, if he knows these statements are false or he does not know they are false, that sales person is responsible for the damage those statements cause the buyer.

I sent my long and involved chronological complaint to the State of New Jersey and I wanted it to be handled by the AG and not by the real estate commission. I wanted fair treatment and Richard Weidel appears to be involved with the real estate commission according to those picked to review new disclosure rules for the State of New Jersey.

Also, this involved the title company, the surveyor, my attorney, and a home inspector and since I am not a believer in many coincidences, I wanted the entire matter looked at for possible collusion.

A picture of the well will follow here. Imagine believing for 16 months that you have a clean well. You drink the water and your son starts having chronic sore throats. You begin to have chronic stomach problems. I thought perhaps there was a problem with the water table since there was a drought. We bought water. Then my neighbor showed me my real well because he sold his home and he wanted me to know about the misrepresentation. He was present at the well inspection and I guess he felt guilty that he said nothing. He does not know that anyone who contributes knowingly to a misrepresentation can be held responsible as well.

I await the decision about the land surveyor in this matter; I have little confidence that I will hear from the real estate commission since it has been months. I will post an update should anyone that is responsible to protect consumers in New Jersey, make a decision.
