Didn't follow through - Consultation and cancelling of service

I set up two appointments with lawyers for consultation and both were missed, there were no calls at all. Then when trying to cancel the service which they didn't fulfill it was the most difficult process I have encountered. I entered the registration in my wife's name and used my credit card yet they refused to cancel the subscription. I can understand security on a purchase but this was to cancel and it was my credit card and information.
