Purchase was broken, returned item to get another defected item! They were both previous return - Defect in 2 CHRISTMAS TREE's

I bought a christmas tree only to come home set it up, it's broken! So I go back with the defected item. They are out of the same item. So I have to get a refund. I had put on my charge so i could use my discounts. When I get refund its on a merch card. Refused to put it back on my kohls charge. Ok, I GO get another style of tree a little more money due to the sale being over. And darnit if I get home and this tree has the wires cut on the lights. Thank gosh i didn't just plug it in. Could have been bad! So now another trip to return agian and will have a merchandise slip! I am not trying agian. But I lost out on my $10.00 free merchandise (from the 1st trip) Plus 15 % off. Plus my $15.00 kohls cash. And I will have a merchandise slip to use that I really would rather have it back on my charge! Very unhappy about all this! Oh, I almost forgot both trees were returns from previous customers because the packaging showed it. 1 of the stands were already put together. The other one had all tags together in bottom of box and no paperwork you could tell it had been out of box. So yes kohls is responsible for checking in returns!!
