Kohls Return Policy is Dishonest - Return Policy

I am very unhappy with the Kohl's return policy! In returning bath mats that I received from my daughter for Christmas, I had a horrible experience. The final straw was when I found that the %u2018Kohl%u2019s new return policy%u2019 causes you to lose money if Kohl%u2019s cash is used. I do not return things frivolously, but when buying and receiving Christmas gifts, when receipts are present, you should at least get back what you pay. For example, if you were to buy a gift for $50 you could qualify for Kohls Cash for the $50 spent. If the $10 Kohls cash is used to buy a $20 dollar item, I would then pay $10 to get the item. If unfortunately neither item fits, and has to be returned, your policy would give $10 back for the second item. That is what was paid, so that is fair. However, if the first item is also returned, only $40 is returned, since $10 Kohls Cash was given. Therefore, I paid $50 $10 for a total of $60 dollars. When returning with the receipts, I would only get back $50. Therefore I lose $10 of actual cash spent. I understand the need to only give back what was spent, but I do not believe it is fair to take off the $10 Kohl%u2019s Cash off both the first AND the second item. Unfortunately I had the misfortune of having to return several items to different stores this year. Kohl%u2019s spends a lot on advertising their good return policy, but based on my Christmas returns, I find they are the worst I experienced. I plan to tell all my friends to be careful with shopping at Kohls. I have always been a loyal customer, but this experience has caused me to no longer use Kohls as my store of choice when I have something I need.
