Charged for Shipping - Not Supposed to be Charged

I am a relatively new customer to amazon's site. For some reason I was sent and charged for two copies of one book I ordered. I assume that I should have seen that mistake. But the advertising said that the shipping would be free over a certain amount. I was over that amount but was charged with shipping.
