They are charging me for something i don't want

Well I was contacted by someone from this company, whom played themselves on being a bank. We have been waiting on word from a house loan we had applied for, and i thought i was talking to someone regarding this loan. When i found out who they really were i told them i wanted to cancel it, that i didn't want it, they told me it was too late, that they were going to charge me for something i did not authorize.
