Elance is not a reputable company that backs up their claims of protecting the consumer. I hired a company through their website and the company did not deliver on the job requirements. I went through their dispute process in order to protect my company from further loss and after agreeing to a settlement, my settlement was not honored by the company. Through a laywer, I found out that the promise that Elance makes on their home page to let the consumer approve the work is false and Elance is not liable for validating their own dispute process.
Do not hire anyone from this company because Elance will not do anything to help you and they will stand behind their terms, which make the consumer responsible for everything. I hired them because I thought they could mediate between me and an offshore company, and indeed they did nothing. Save yourself the trouble. No matter how much money you think you will save, in the end, you will save nothing except lose A TON of time and the money you spent, which for me was over $10,000.
