Trial Ended AOL Helped Itself to My Bank Account Jacksonville Florida

Internet & Web

I had purchased a new computer from Dell in February. With my computer package came AOL for six months free.

At what I guessed to be the end of the six month period, I purchased DSL through someone else. I went through my bank statement and there it is... AOL billing. Where is my invoice, e-mail or phone call?

Called AOL and informed the CSR that I wanted to cancel my account with AOL. I had another provider and did not require two of them.

Just the other day, I called to check the balance on my account and the account balance was off again. I called my bank and guess what??? AOL again. I completed the affidavit for the bank and faxed it over. I am so glad I found this one right away. Bank rep was extremely helpful.

I call AOL again and asked why the company takes my money without my authorization? The answer is simply this according to AOL rep, "that's the way we do things". I did not feel this was an appropriate response and I asked to speak to someone who could really assist me.

This next person was able to assist me in getting my account cancelled. He also tried to convince me to switch back to AOL. I honestly think he missed the part when I said I did not wish to do business with someone who helps themselves to my bank account without my knowledge. He proceeded to keep up his selling pitch, even offering to credit my account if I sign back up. I told him he could have my business back if, and only if, he gave me his bank account number and allowed me to withdraw from it whenever I wanted. He then gave me my cancellation confirmation number and put me on some disclaimer recording.

I would also be interested to find out how AOL got my information in the first place? I never signed up with them for anything!!! The CSR at AOL told me it came from the people who sold me the computer. OK, That is a totally different issue there and I need need to confirm this info before I blow my stack on this one.
