Steven Siegel advertising exec, computer parts/service sales ripoff

I advise you do not do business with this man. On Sunday, June 10th, I purchased a used topcase for an apple computer from Steve Siegel on Craigslist. It was a private sale. He even drove to meet me for the sale - he sold me a defective part. The topcase had broken screw holes in the plastic and he did not mention that. I asked him if it was a working part and he said yes.

When I discovered the part was defective, I asked him to return my money or give me a working part. His text said:
"sorry, you got an excellent deal and I drove way out of my way for you. I was not aware of any defects and it's a done deal. You'll get by without them."

Also, "I have no way of knowing if you are the one responsible for the broken or missing parts. I was not aware of any damage or missing parts I but would recommend taking them from your current unibody topcase. (the parts are not removable) I will not take the top case back. I took apart an entire macbook for you. Please be realistic here. Case deal, you had a chance to look at it before you paid me. End of story."

From that moment he has ignored my communication. If you value your time and money, do not do business with this man, or check very carefully his work and promises.
