I was trying one of those AOL "free trial cd's and when I found that Juno's service was more than half the price of AOL for the same service, I wanted to switch. AOL requires you to sign up with a credit card even though they claim they won't bill you if you call to cancel before the free trial. When I called to cancel I thought my service was done. I was away at college and my parents were paying my bills, so I never saw the credit card statement until May.

I canceled AOL in November. Come May I see they had been billing me the whole time. When I called the representative barely spoke english and was difficult for me to understand.

Then he kept trying to sell me more services and I asked to speak to the supervisor because I didnt want to say yes to something I didnt want, and with his poor english who knows what I was saying yes or no to.

He got rude with me and said he would get me a cancellation confirmation number and then hung up on me. I called again and asked to speak with a manager and got the runaround, finally one got on the line and promised my account was closed.

Then, They claimed my citicard had put a block on the account and they could not refund all the charges to that card, they needed a different one.

I gave them my debit card number, which I regret now. They refunded the charges and then I get a letter weeks later claiming they tried to bill my citicard and could not, so I owed them 23.90 for the last month, which tells me my account was still active.

I call again, and am even given a cancellation number. Still weeks later I recieve another letter from their collection dept this time saying they are sending the bill into collections.

I called AGAIN, and they claim again that they will take care of this, I shouldnt recieve any more letters. I am sick of AOL-they do this to everyone because they can not keep customers. I know many other people who would love to file a class action suit against them.

I have probably spent a good 5 hours on the phone with AOL and my credit card company in regards to this matter (since every time you call AOL you wait 45 minutes to speak with someone).

Its just ridiculous, I am very upset by this and something should be done.
