AOL, America On Line
Ripped of by America Online, claims no way to speak to legal dept. Only can contact through the mail!

Internet & Web

I used to be an aol customer years ago but got fed up with problems with them so I cancelled. Then in 2003 I tried one of those stupid free disks and was ripped off.

I was charged 155. Bucks to my credit card for monthly usage when it was supposed to be free. AOL stated that the reason I was charged on my credit card was because I reverted back to my old login email address subsequently my billing was changed to a couple bucks an hour.

Well several hours later they socked me with these charges to a credit card I used YEARS ago to pay for my service.
I contacted AOL and they stated the only way I could be reinbursed was if I contacted their legal department. I asked for a phone number and was told there was NONE!

I was given an address to their legal department, which I wrote to and was never given a response back. So two weeks later I called AOL again and they said that the computer was showing that my claim was denied! I told the man on the phone that this was rediculous that I could not talk to a human about my claim, he said that he could talk to me but the only thing he could tell me was that my claim was denied!

Now if that is not a poor attempt at resolving a situation then I don't know what is.

So now I am 155. Dollars short and pissed. I tell everyone and anyone I know about this so that they do not get ripped off - pass it on. Oh, and words of advice never attach a credit card number to an online service, you never know that years later they still have your damn card number and rip you off
