Company comes up when searching for Hotmail Technical Phone Support. They are a pay for service, and after telling them the problem with my "Hacked Hotmail Account". Symptom was spoofed email going to many of my contacts. They used a program to take remote control of my program and I showed them the spoofed email. I told them that I had already changed my email password and they indicated that the issue may be malware on my computer. They said they would need to load their security program, but when I pressed for the name of the software before I would consent to putting on my computer, they told me it was Sophos Anti-virus (a freeware download). When I asked why I would need a to pay for this download, they indicated that they would need to have a technician set up my security settings.

They first requested me to enter my credit card info while the remote software was running. I terminated the remote program and paid $119 for the single incident. We ran the free scan, which took 4 hours, finding no threats. That was the end. During the followup they did not make any changes to security settings or offer any explanation for the email hack or how to avoid it.
