Stamps.com
Totally misleading and scam

Internet & Web

So I signed up for Stamps.com in January for CashCrates.com surveys and because I sell on Ebay occasionally. It seemed easy enough, a four week trial (no it didn't say free, but it did say my card wouldn't be charged until after four weeks if I had not canceled and then my membership would just continue). I called within two weeks to cancel, but had not used the service at all. The lady strong armed me into (guilt trip I guess) at least trying the service first before canceling. She was nice but persistant, so I agreed to try it first since there was a free $5 credit to start out.

Well of course, that wasn't enough to do much so I had to add $10 to ship an item I had sold on Ebay. I admit it was fairly easy to use, although not as easy as she had claimed. I used it several times, but started to then research the supposed discount promised. Um, NO there were not any substantial discounts. Maybe a few cents here and there compared to what I'd pay at usps.com directly for shipping! I never got my welcome package either with supplies or the scale.

Then it was too late to cancel as I missed it by one day (got busy, you know how that always works) and they would not refund that month. So I said, well I will use it this month but that's it. During that time, I made an international label and the customer requested an address change. Well I canceled the old label and sent in for an "E-fund" (which is an electronic refund). It didn't tell me right then that it would take up to 3 weeks but I found this out when I called to cancel again and asked about my refund today.

The lady said it should process in a couple more days, and that if I canceled it would take another 3-4 weeks to get my postage balance refunded as well! I then asked if the pending $17.95 would be refunded since I did call on time this time to cancel, and she said no that this was for February service! I was upset and said, no I was charged $17.95 in February already. She then told me some crap about how the "trial" is risk free and basically the $17.95 charged to my account in February was for that 4 weeks of usage (reminder, I didn't even use it until the end)!!!

I was livid, and I said that is not stated anywhere in the registration process. I then said I needed to print two labels using my existing balance of over $30 first, so I had to call back to cancel because apparently I couldn't use my postage balance if I canceled right then! So I call back an hour later and another guy then informs me that I will not be getting my refund of $16 from the canceled label request back on the 7th!!! So review, I will not be getting back the $17.95 they charged me today even though I canceled at the end of my month on time,

I will have to wait 3-4 weeks for my postage balance refund of now $24.95, PLUS I won't get back my $16 from the label I never used?!?! Why you ask? Because that is their policy... No other reasonable explanation!!?!?! I am filing a report with my bank to stop payment for both the postage and my membership fees immediately. I am livid!!! Do NOT use Stamps.com as you do not get discounts, the monthly fee negates any savings you might get anyways ten fold, you can do the same things on usps.com for FREE! Unbelievably terrible customer service.
